Our Herd Sires...

It has been said that the strength of a farm’s herd lies in the strength of its herd sires. Cattail Meadows has now acquired what we believe are 2 very outstanding bucks with impressive lineages. It is our intention to carefully select each buck and doe pair with the intent of bringing out the very best qualities in our spring Pygora kids. Bloodlines, fleece types, color and conformation are all considered before our breeding pairs are matched up. Each of our Pygora bucks is registered through the Pygora Breeder’s Association (PBA). Verdant Vistas Aiden

Verdant Vistas Aiden, himself Reserve Champion Junior Buck at both the 2005 Bold & Beautiful Pygora Buck and Fleece Show and the 2005 Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival, has sired 3 of the Reserve & Grand Champion fiber award-winning wethers who reside at Cattail Meadows (VV Wyatt, VV Clancy and VV Cullen). Aiden is a beautiful medium carmel buck who produces the softest light carmel type B fleece, and his bloodlines trace back to the award winning Peppermint Pastures Pygoras Morris.

	Baker Ridge Arvydas Baker Ridge Arvydas’ lineage is impressive in that it directly traces back to Misty Meadows Valentino (1988)…one of the few original black Pygora bucks from Katherine Jorgensen’s herd. Arvydas is a stunning black buck who produces the finest medium grey type B fleece. His offspring are outstanding, as well. Recently, at the 2007 Bold and Beautiful Pygora Buck and Fleece show, Arvydas’ son, Verdant Vistas Paul Bunyon, won Grand Champion Junior Buckling!
